Thiopropyl Sepharose
6B is a resin used for reversible immobilization of molecules containing thiol
groups under mild conditions. Optimized for immobilization of small
biomolecules.

Thiopropyl-Sepharose 6B is a mixed disulfide affinity resin
supplied by Pharmacia Fine Chemicals. It contains approximately 20 μmoles of
2-thiopyridyl residues in mixed disulfide linkages to hydroxypropyl residues
per ml swollen gel; the latter residues are linked to the Sepharose 6B matrix
via ether linkages. Thiopropyl-Sepharose 6B can be synthesized by a method such
as that described by R. Axen, Drevin, H. and Carlsson, J., Acta Chem. Scand. B,
1975, 29, 71-474).
