Proposed synthesis method:
Step 1:
- Suspend ~ 1 g of Compound 1 in 22 mL of triply distilled water.
- Add an amount of 11 mL of 30% H2O2 to the mixture.
- Stir the mixture for 3 hours at 30 °C (in the dark).
- Reduce the volume of the clear yellow solution obtained on a rotavapor and cool in the fridge.
- Precipitate the mixture with a sufficient amount of cold acetone. Finalize the precipitation with the help of ultrasonic waves.
- Filter the final product.
- Wash the mixture with acetone and dry in vacuo.
- Use column chromatography purification to obtain Compound 2 and dry the product in vacuo.
Step 2:
- Suspend succinic anhydride and Compound 2 in dry DMF (molar ratio: ~ 5:1).
- Stir the reaction mixture at 60 °C for 8 hours.
- Remove DMF under reduced pressure.
- Suspend the residue in acetone with the help of ultrasonic waves.
- Filter the reaction mixture.
- Wash the mixture with acetone and dry in vacuo.
- Use column chromatography purification to obtain Compound 3 and dry the product in vacuo.
